I checked out Old Dog's cowboy cooking link. Do real cowboys clarify their butter? I think not! I do a little cooking myself, and it seems to me that this guy adds a lot of unnecessary steps to his process. I have grilled on open fires and charcoal, and I think that a gas grill is way easier and the results are just as good. The only seasoning I use is Lawry's seasoned salt, and have never seen the need for anything else. I have grilled fish a few times, but I prefer to deep fat fry them in vegetable oil. I make a beer batter with Drake's Mix, which contains everything you need except the beer. You don't even need to add salt. I usually make French fries to go with the fish. Store bought frozen fries taste just as good as home made, and you don't need to salt them either. With my ice cream, I have settled on plain vanilla with some Smucker's fruit preserves stirred in. My tastes are simple, and so are my hypothetical wife's.
You guys may be right about that Russian thing. I haven't been paying much attention to it because, like I said, today's news sounds a lot like yesterday's news. If they ever get done talking and decide to actually do something, then I might find it more interesting.
