Chickens and Pears

It sounds like those chickens making a round trip to Red China will be cleaned where they are slaughtered, in the US.  All the commies will be doing is cooking and packaging them, which makes more sense than shipping dead uncleaned birds across the ocean.  This sounds like the precooked chicken that is already available here.  We seldom buy it because it's more expensive and doesn't taste as good as the stuff we cook ourselves.

That was an interesting story about those mutant pear trees gone wild.  The "thorn apple" trees we have around here might be a variant.  They are not widespread, but they can become a localized problem once the get established.  I have heard tell that the thorns are capable of puncturing a tractor tire, so most farmers kill every one they see.  There was a thick stand of them next door to where we used to live, but they didn't seem to be spreading off the property.  I have chopped down two or three of them in Beaglesonia over the years, and they haven't sprouted back, at least not yet.
