Marrying the one you love is a right you have always had and when you had a chance to give it to gay people you refused. When they got it you were unhappy and now you are eager to take it away from them. There is no way this is tolerance. Stopping short of voting to stone them to death or burn them does not make it tolerance. The length of time they had this right is irrelevant. Are you going to put people back in slavery, take away their vote, and the vote of women, because it didn't use to be that way?
I think the biggest problem I have with abortion and gay marriage is that the people of Michigan voted both of them down, and the Supreme Court made us do it anyway.
My point was that you were always against gay marriage and abortion, and would have been regardless of the Michigan votes and the Supreme Court decision and your declaration that the biggest problem you had with these issues was those actions is false.
Trump rules the republican party, expect to hear nothing but praise of Him from your candidates in the future.
The thing about abortion is it goes back to when we were hunter gatherers and will always be with us. When you outlaw it, it makes it harder for the poor to get it, and more expensive for the rich, but of course they can still get it done. The poor girl does not have the money to travel several hundred miles to the nearest abortion clinic, but the rich girl can fly there first class. Too bad because if the rich girl had the baby she could probably give it a good start in life. The poor girl does not have those means and if she should appeal to the party that made abortions hard to get for help she will find a slap in the face because, although they love fetuses, they don't like poor people because they think they are all freeloaders.
For awhile there liberals were calling themselves progressives because the term liberal had been trashed, more lately it has been the province of the left insurgent wing of the democratic party. Are these the people Old Dog is speaking of?
