Not so dangerous

England can't catch a break, can it?  Not too long ago there was a bomb at a concert, and the other day some loons drove a van through a crowd and then proceeded to use knives on other innocents.

Some pundits theorize that European countries are the targets of terrorism because members of the Muslim community are highly marginalized and poorly assimilated, unlike the situation here in the US.  It's not all lovey-dovey but I don't think Muslims in the US face the levels of hostility that are prevalent in other western countries.  As a nation of immigrants we might be a bit more tolerant.

I don't think DNA testing for ancestral research is ready for prime time yet.  The negative ratings at the National Geographic link surprised me; I would think they could be a little more specific than "Northern European" as a result in some cases.

That listing for St. Louis as being a dangerous city is a few years old, and it relates only to the murder rate (I think) which makes it suspect.  Not all murders are equal.  It's one thing if they were random killings, or murders during the commission of another crime, or murders as a result of a crime of passion, i.e., a lover's quarrel.  I think St. Louis has gotten a bum rap in this case.
