More of the same

Are we still having a presidential election this year?  It looks like the rule book has been thrown out and even without a convention it appears that Joe Biden is the Democratic candidate, for real.  I must have missed some primaries or maybe the folks that dropped out decided to go all in for Smilin' Joe Biden.  The effect of Covid-19 on the election process cannot be predicted; between absentee ballots and social distancing it's going to be nuts.  Grab your popcorn.

I thought the peaceful protests in Chicago over the weekend worked out well, lots of folks making their voices heard without any head bashing by the cops.  Too many police departments have issues that need to be addressed, there is an "us vs. them" mentality that runs deep and no cop wants to rat out another cop for questionable behavior.  I'm going to let this issue lie for the moment, there is too much for me to process.

But I thought it kind of curious that although protests in the US have been large, the crowds in many foreign cities have been larger.  I've not seen that before, even in the turbulent 60s.

Plenty of yeast available in the local supermarkets, so the great shortage of 2020 may be over.  I didn't know that yeast is good for septic systems but wouldn't toilet cleaners and such kill the little critters?
