A pleasant surprise showed up in my mailbox last week, a check from the Feds for $1200. Have you guys gotten yours yet? I was disappointed that Trump's name was printed in plain old text and not the scrawl that he signs all of his important stuff with. The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if the damn check bounces.

Like Uncle Ken, I've been tracking the Covid numbers for Illinois but I've given up on that Wikipedia site that he uses. I think their graph stinks and is useless, not providing any good info. A cumulative tally tells me nothing, and what's the deal with the parenthetical percentage numbers? They mean nothing. But if you look at the bottom of the graph some sources are mentioned, and one of them is a beauty, the Illinois Department of Public Health. Go to that site and scroll down; you'll be able to see a chart tracking the daily numbers of cases and deaths with none of the cumulative nonsense. There are spikes and valleys with the death numbers but if you squint you can see that the deaths might be leveling off, but that could be my imagination.

The local supermarkets still have plenty of food and other goods in stock but they might be getting to the bottom of the barrel with some of the perishables. I noticed a big green fuzzy patch on one of the oranges in a bag I almost bought.
The aisles in the store are all one-way with arrows on the floor marking the direction and additional graphics to remind customers to keep a two-cart distance from other patrons. People seem to be adjusting well to this new reality of face masks and social distancing with no crazy behavior that I could see.

If you think you may find yourself facing another toilet paper shortage there may be a solution to your dilemma; just Google "family cloth."
