I see that in my absence the Dawgs have gone from morality to marsupials. Very well, I can go along with the flow. I'll just scan the posts and and pick out things to quibble with.
That's the thing about morality not only is it good, it's good for you, in that people like a good guy. But if you want to get ahead you are going to have to do a little back stabbing and butt kicking. Beagles is the only one of us who has offspring, but what if your child was a very moral janitor, would you rather your child was a not so moral head of some big corporation?
Another thing about morality is it makes you feel good. Some years ago I was paying my bill at a Thai restaurant, and I gave the guy a ten and he gave me back three twenties and some other bills. I assumed he was, dare I say it, just off the boat, and I said no, no, no, and pointed out the error and one of his coworkers straightened things out. If I hadn't said anything I would have walked away with a fatter wallet, but what I did walk away with was the feeling of what a good guy I am. And every now and then I remember the incident and pat myself on the back, and I have to say that is probably better than a fat wallet.
But then if doing good makes me feel better am I really being a good person, shouldn't there be some sacrifice? This is one of those bull session questions (and I'm sure we've gone over this before) that the Greeks have produced volumes on having had slaves do all their work for them.
Kittens don't open their eyes until they are a week old, which is not a problem because Mom is there. Mammals and birds raise their young which makes me think they have some vague morality that other animals don't have.
I've often wondered why there is so much diversity in nature. I mean what does an oak tree have that an elm tree doesn't? Why aren't all trees oaks, or elms?
I've seen Beaglesonia on google earth, but I ;like that spiffy red rectangle. I didn't realize before how close it is to Cheboygan, looks like about a mile. And what is that Duncan Bay? If you put your canoe into it could you paddle all the way to Canada?
I was going to get into the shutdown, but maybe I should't get that agitated after getting out of the hospital. I have to say that everything went according to plan, and I am at home now and feeling, well, pretty good.
