I seemed to remember that several states had National Guard troops on standby in case this "peaceful protest" got out of hand. They knew it was coming, but they didn't know how violent it would get. I didn't see any mention of the Guard being involved in the early reports I read last night, but tonight I found this article after scrolling past numerous other items. It sounds to me like what we used to call a SNAFU back in my army days. Hopefully they will get their act together before Inauguration Day.
