If I was a praying man, I could say that my prayers are with my esteemed colleagues in Chicago, but I'm not a praying man. Like Old Dog, I have been wishing for some time that there was something else in the news besides COVID-19, but this is certainly not what I had in mind. Not only do I have no answers for this, I also am not sure what the questions are. I understand that it all started out with the alleged murder of a Black guy in Minneapolis. Last I heard, the alleged murderer has been arrested and charged, so how did it come to this?
I haven't seen much in the news lately about the Mexican border situation. A month or two ago, Trump had declared that all illegals apprehended on our side would be immediately returned to Mexico by way of the nearest gate "without due process". It has been my opinion all along that they should have been doing this from the beginning, but first the laws would have to be changed. Trump seems to have circumvented the law with his emergency corona powers, but that should have been a temporary thing that may have expired by now.
