It's all in name isn't it? Technically Obamacare is called ACA, the
American Care Act, the reps started calling it Obamacare as a way to
denigrate it, but then when Obamacare became somewhat popular the dems
took up on that name too.
If we had libertarian health care, it would likely be cheaper and it
would certainly be more transparent, but people without money wouldn't
get any health care, and for even the most hard-hearted of us it doesn't
sound right. If we keep the pre-Obama system, most people get pretty
good health care, but some don't get any and people are chained to their
jobs, the poor get some kind of care, but they end up in the emergency
rooms which makes it expensive for the rest of us. With Obamacare
everybody gets health care, but it's kind of expensive and nobody really
knows what's going on because big insurance and big pharma and big
hospitals get together and make deals, but that goes on with the current
system too. With the Canadian system, the whole thing is a lot cheaper
because the insurance companies don't get a cut everytime you turn
around, and they seem pretty happy with it, but I hear that if you want a
nose job you have to wait years.
I assume you are for the Canadian system because you live near there and
you can see that it works, Well how can a government-run system work
well? Maybe it's just the American government that you think can't run
anything. Well let's face it, outside of the Indians we are all
immigrants, and some of us may have left for high ideals, but a lot of
us left because we didn't like the people back home and they didn't like
us. Let's face it, we are a nation of assholes. The Canadians are
immigrants too, but maybe living in the frozen north. where people are
more dependent on each other, they became the polite people they are
today.
I don't think Trump delegates are going to vote for Cruz on the second
ballot. Have you heard the way Cruz talks about Trump (and vice versa)
these days? Polls I saw last night while watching the cheese returns
indicate that most Trump backers would never vote for Cruz and most Cruz
backers would never vote for Trump. So that leaves you with Uncle
Johnny Ohio, who at least gives you the state of Ohio, or Mitt of the
sweaty mitts, some would like Paul Ryan, but just because he was stupid
enough to take on the speaker of the house job, does not mean he is
stupid enough to accept the republican nomination.
That leaves a couple of deep thinkers currently writing an obscure
blog. It would give us a chance to see the world and to spread our
wisdom far and wide. I'll flip you for who is the veep and who is the
prez.
I understand why you don't play sports, but neither do most sport fans,
and I wondered why you didn't have a favorite pro or college team, but
now that i think about it, becoming a fan of a particular team means
merging yourself with a crowd of people who all think alike about one
thing at least, and that is just not your style.
We had snow last weekend and I think there is more ahead this week. It
doesn't stick but it looks fierce, and it's just depressing this time of
year when we are pining for the warm breath of spring.
