Public Health Care

It's been a long time since I heard anybody call it "socialized medicine", I believe the current politically correct term is "public health care". The reason I say this is that I looked it up on Wiki during the time that Obamacare was being debated. I had come across people on the internet who thought that Obamacare was going to mean free medical care for all, and I looked it up to find evidence to the contrary. It turned out that almost every country in the world has some kind of public health care. Medicare and Medicaid fall into that category, so we have it too. The difference is that we don't have universal public health care. Between Medicare, Medicaid, veterans benefits, and Native American programs, about half the people in the U.S were already on some kind of public health care. Some of the Native Americans actually ended up losing their health benefits under Obamacare. It was unintentional, a glitch in the system, and it may have been corrected by now.
Of course the Birchers and the Libertarians were against it, and I was too back in those days, but I have since come to the conclusion that I like the Canadian system.

I was mistaken about both Cruz and Kasich wanting to force a three way race at the convention. Apparently Cruz wants Kasich to quit because he can't win. Kasich says that he is staying in because every delegate he acquires is one less delegate for Trump, so it sounds like he is the one trying to force a three way race. I think you're right about the party elite having little use for either Trump or Cruz, but I don't know that there's anything they can do about it. I agree that most delegates are unlikely to switch their votes to Trump, what I meant was that, in the event of a second ballot, some of the Trump delegates, having been released from their pledges, will likely switch their votes to somebody else. Cruz would be the logical second choice, but people do not always act logically.

I'm sure that I told you before about why I never developed an interest in sports, but a certain amount of memory loss is normal at our age. My father wasn't into ball sports, and he taught me hunting and fishing instead. I had health issues when I was young, and it wasn't until I was 10 years old that all my medical restrictions were lifted. By that time the other kids were so far ahead of me that I never bothered to try to catch up. Nobody seemed interested in teaching me either, they just expected me to already know how and, when they found out that I didn't, all they wanted to do was make fun of me. This led me to believe that people who play sports are assholes and I didn't need to be hanging around them. I had plenty of other friends anyway, so to hell with those jocks.

We are still getting snow here. It keeps melting, but more keeps coming. This is unusual, but not unheard of, April weather in God's Country. We had April's weather in March, so now we are getting March's weather in April. It has happened before, and it will happen again, and there is nothing new under the Sun.
