As I recall, the other three countries being bombed, or were bombed via drones, are Libya, Somalia, and Yemen. A recent movie, Eye in the Sky, dealt with drone warfare and it was not a bad flick. A lot of politicking is involved in the decision making process; rules of engagement are complex. It's easy for the guy at the top of the chain of command to say "do it" but not at all easy for the guy in the trailer outside of Vegas to actually push that button.

I keep returning to The Atlantic for cogent discourse on the election circus; the articles seem even handed and I don't sense any hidden agenda. Maybe I'm just a dupe of Big Media. Anyhow, a recent article discussed political consultants, and it was an eye opener. It makes no difference whether the candidate wins or loses to these guys, they still get paid and get hired for more campaigns. Also interesting is where a lot of that campaign money ends up; radio and TV stations love it, even if it makes little difference on election day.
This summed it up for me: "Politicians aren’t leaders—they’re interchangeable products to be packaged and sold."

I'll have to change my guesstimate on the Bloviator's weight. Considering his height, I now think it's in the 250-270 range. Some guy on one of the news programs noted that he would be the chubbiest presidential candidate since Taft. Maybe that big bathtub is still in the basement of the White House, if worse comes to worst.
A different guy at Newsweek wrote a recent article about the guy's business interests and how they would affect foreign policy if he was elected; not a pretty picture. Anyhow, he posted a Tweet, since deleted, stating that CarrotTop doesn't want to release his medical reords because he was under psychiatric care in 1990. If true, that's a big deal breaker. Remember Thomas Eagleton?
Another rumor from a while back is that his medical records would reveal treatment for a sexually transmitted disease, not unlikely considering all his bragging about the conquests back in the day. Discretion is not his strong suit, and that damn permanent record is going to bite him in the ass.
This circus is cursed by way too much information.

So why do people want to talk so much? I'll stick my neck out and state that it's a time honored method of communication. When we talk, we're not just stating facts; we're also thinking on the fly, not really sure of what we're going to say until we say it. Thinking out loud, as it were. We're developing thoughts and ideas, never really sure of where the conversation will end up. You start talking about one thing and before you know it you're talking about something completely different, something I have done in abundance. But isn't the journey more interesting than the destination?
